Sea Glass
I do not have any silver sea glass wrapped pendants left so need to make some more. The silver is very popular due to the nice shine. I also love copper work but find silver plated/silver wire is much more popular.
I still have pics of my silver pendants on this blog and will make similar ones, although no two are the same.
Beach combing today I got lots of very small pieces and did not find any big pendant size pieces the right shape.Which shows how precious sea glass is. I plan to make some delicate pendants with bead detail and will use my previous stash to make some larger size pendants too.
Found on the beach, collected to make labels for my stall |
These are the pieces I have picked out to wire wrap |
Glass bead pendants
I also got these lovely glass beads in a curio shop. I love the back of the red and blue one and need to decide whether to go for a full wire wrap,or a simple but pretty wire wrapped bail.So watch this space.
I also love the black and white artdeco glass bead which will evolve soon.
Tree Of Life Pendants
I find it great fun making these little tree pendants which I complete in different sizes with different gemstones, style and wire, What do you think of this lot I have made for a stall at The childrens Wood gala next week?
Week Three silversmith class-Riveting and LOS
I had one hour to make this pendant at class which was not long enough. I work slowly in a relaxed but engrossed manner. This pendant involved sawing, applying patina (LOS),drilling, filing (lots),soldering silver to make the head pin, hammering the pin into a nail,to cold connect the pieces together .riveting. I have some silver at home so I intend to take my time sawing out little shapes to drill and rivet at next class. So I might get better.
