Snow tree of Life pendant

Using xmas break to get in some practice at wire and today I made this Snow Tree of Life Pendant which I adapted from a Laura Child tutorial. I wanted to improve my trees so bought a tutorial on Etsy. Whilst I turned it into a snow tree I do like this method.

Winter beach walk for sea glass

Sea glass fresh from the beach wire wrapped in copper wire, Egyptian style with lots of swirls
Everyone thought I was mad suggesting a trip to Prestwick beach  today 27-12-2012 to collect sea glass, but I dragged them out. We had to search hard and enjoyed finding  a few nice pieces.
Aqua sea glass wrapped in silver wire with a wire weave bail
I really want to learn more about wire wrapping and need some tips on wire weaving.I find the 26 gauge wire thin which is recommended for weaving a bit thin on the completed look.Lovely and shiny though.

The colours although bright are not as garish as in this  photo
I made this copper Tree of Life Pendant for my sister in law based on the idea of a decorated xmas tree as one of her presents and gave it to her today. It was made especially for her, as all my gifted jewellery,I make the piece with the person in mind.

My ten year old son loves to make jewellery and after our xmas lunch with family we enjoyed shopping together. We found a xmas craft market in a pub, although it was a lovely atmosphere it was dark and we could not see the jewellery on the tables or the prices on the red labels. So tip for craft market check if you need to take lamp and do not use red labels. We are definately going to book some stalls in the New Year.
I now have presents under the tree,do not think I have any jewels though.

This week I have enjoyed making Christmas themed wire wrapped jewellery.
I have wrapped lovely natural stones I bought in a charity shop  with copper and silver wire.
Natural stones wrapped in copper and silver wire, with words, joy, peace, love, wisdom, hope, happiness
They say Joy, Hope Peace,Love, Happiness and wisdom and I am selling some in My Etsy shop Encanto Jewellery Design.

I have enjoyed adding them  as an extra in gift bags for friends, matching the sentiment to the person
for a New Year wish.

Welcome to Encanto Jewellery

Welcome To Encanto Jewellery blog. I intend to use this blog to post the jewellery I make and share my ideas and any good jewellery making tips.
I really love paper beads which I make from a favourite book,or old music sheet or  comic tailored the person its gifted for.

I also love wire work although have a lot to learn and have a board on pinterest "Inspirations for wire work" where I post pins and tutorials hoping I will soon be able to make these lovely items. To date I am pleased to have learnt wire wrapping cabochon s and have enjoyed using silver and copper wire to wrap individual beautiful pieces of sea glass reclaimed from Scottish Beaches into wearable attractive pendants, earrings etc..

I also love making tree of life pendants and have lots of ideas and intend to make the entire season of trees.
